| Planned Giving |
Planned Giving
Monthly sponsorship donations are used to assist the children with food, clothing, school supplies, medical needs, and in some cases school tuition. However, what happens to the children when you are no longer here? Their needs will continue. A planned gift can ensure both the futures of the children and Children, Incorporated, while at the same time offer you and your family multiple tax benefits. For our sponsors and contributors, the benefits of planned giving are two-fold. Fiscally, of course, there exist many possible tax deductions which may apply to the type of charitable contribution you choose. However, most who give discover a deep satisfaction in knowing a child's needs will continue to be met.
Owners of traditional IRAs (and Roth IRAs) may direct gifts up to $100,000 from these accounts to Children, Incorporated without owing federal income tax under the following conditions:
- Persons making distributions must be at least age 70 ½.
- The IRA distributions must be made in 2007.
- The distributions must go directly from the IRA to Children, Incorporated without passing through your hands.
Giving to Children, Incorporated from your IRA may count toward your IRA’s minimum distribution level for 2007. This IRA gift will earn no charitable deduction, but will allow you to avoid federal taxation on this distribution. Your gift may avoid state income taxes as well, depending on where you live.
For the children of CI, the benefits are absolutely priceless. Basic essentials such as food, clothing, shelter, medical, and educational needs will be provided for years to come.
For Children, Incorporated, your planned gift allows a higher percentage of funds to be spent on the children, directly. This enables CI to use other funds to cover unavoidable operational and administrative costs.

Share in their future with your company’s Matching Gifts Program.
Matching gifts can make your donation or monthly sponsorship stretch even farther. Check with your company’s human resource department to see if your employer already participates in a matching gifts program with Children, Incorporated, or see the list at left for a list of those employers who already participate. If your company is not listed, please ask your company to add Children, Incorporated to the list of eligible organizations for matching gifts. |
| Combined Federal Campaign |
Federal, Military, and Postal Service employees will find Children, Incorporated in the U.S. Government's prestigious Combined Federal Campaign. You can designate your payroll deduction gift to Children, Incorporated by writing our national code number 10071 on your Combined Federal Campaign Pledge Form.
Children, Incorporated participates in several State Employee Campaigns. Please consult your directory of approved charities to find our code number.
