Appalachian Division
Serves more than 5,000 children in Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Established in 1971 with two projects in Kentucky, the Appalachian Division has expanded
to over 150 projects within a network of public schools. The children in this division
live primarily in rural mountainous communities in the Appalachian Mountain range. Within this
economically distressed region of the United States live thousands of children whose families exist
on some form of public assistance or outright charity. Click here to sponsor a child in our Appalachian
